Fabricator Level 1
Rock Solid Cases
Rock Solid Cases, a division of FM Systems Group, is currently hiring a Fabricator Level 1 role for our manufacturing shop located in Edmonton, Alberta. Reporting to the shop supervisor, the Fabricator level 1’s primary duty is to assemble and build cases, working to the design specifications.
Classification: Full-time, permanent
Location: Edmonton, AB
Duties
o Learn Rock Solids custom case manufacturing standards and best practices in fabricating and assembling cases.
o Utilizing custom design templates, cut and sand down to specifications.
o Use of power tools and various other hand tools to assemble cases.
o Working with multiple different materials.
o Foam cutting and aluminium extrusion cutting.
o Complete case interior fittings by lining with foam or carpet.
o Apply finishes.
o Shop clean-up, organize scrap and materials, and tool maintenance.
o Prepare products for shipping.
o Advise Shop supervisor on stock level and raw material.
o Quality check.
o Adhere to the company’s established Health and Safety programs.
o Contribute positively to the culture and success of the company.
o Other duties as assigned by the Shop Supervisor.
Core Competencies
o Basic computer skills.
o Hands on technical skillset encompassing fabrication and carpentry.
o Mathematical and analytical skills necessary to do material take-offs and cut lists.
o Ability to work and thrive in a collaborative and multi tasked environment while efficiently managing time.
o Self-motivated and able to work independently while following all health and safety standards.
o Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills.
o Strive for continuous improvement (accuracy, tolerances, speed) without sacrificing quality.
o High School Diploma
o Experience following blueprints ensuring output is to exact specifications.
o Experience working with metal, solid wood, veneers, MDF, plastic and acrylic laminates.
o Previous experience working in carpentry or manufacturing would be considered an asset.
Typical hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Saturday. 40 hours per week on a rotating shift. Overtime may be required in the evening or on weekends depending on present production demands.
