The salary range for this position is:

Recruitment range: $67,040- $73,911 starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.

Performance range: starting salary to max of $87,175 is available through annual performance increases.

Job Summary

Mandate:

Reporting to the Associate Director of Business Operations, the Group Sales Coordinator (GSC) contributes to the goals and strategies of Residence Services by growing and developing the business for on-campus summer and guest house accommodation. The GSC recommends, develops, implements, and oversees sales, marketing, and operational strategies to increase budgeted revenues for summer accommodation for guests and visitors, as well as longer term accommodation in university guest houses. The GSC works closely with internal and external partners and clients to develop strategic business opportunities and support overall summer programming.

Objectives:

• Develops and implements strategic sales and marketing plans and tactics to increase summer revenues, currently budgeted at $1.8 million per year.
• Coordinates daily summer accommodation operations, including overseeing bookings; communication with group and individual clients; billing processes; and trouble-shooting urgent guest issues and complaints.
• Models exceptional customer service, and trains and coaches front-line conference and front desk staff in guest accommodation procedures and service expectations.
• Supervises and trains Conference and Guest Service Clerks in processes and problem solving to meet the needs of external guests.
• Liaises and collaborates with the Residence Facilities team to manage available room inventory, ensuring deadlines can be met for cleaning and maintenance. Leads team meetings to coordinate and streamline guest accommodation procedures and summer operations.
• Responds to requests, coordinates, and books accommodation for incoming early arrival fall students, working closely with campus partners and residence admissions staff to coordinate operations.

Job Requirements

This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a degree or diploma in hospitality management or a related area plus a minimum of three years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Experience with writing communications such as web content, contracts, email templates and other documents.
• Ability to monitor and forecast revenues and budgets and develop and create business reports as needed.
• Able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience with a hospitality or similar booking system, including booking accommodations, invoicing, and reconciling charges.
• Experience leading, supervising, and training staff in both a service orientation and operational skills.
