General Labourer (Days)

The General Labour is responsible for operating several different pieces of equipment inside and outside of the building and performing a variety of tasks related to the manufacturing of pressure treated lumber. Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient operation of equipment.
• Follow all company Health & Safety policies and SOPs.
• Wear all PPE required and work in a safe manner.
• Participate in all company mandated training in good faith.
• Come to work prepared (both mentally and materially) to work in a variety of environments.
• Maintain accurate production records.
• Complete appropriate forms legibly and clearly.
• Complete prestart equipment checks.
• Follow standard operating procedures.
• Manual dexterity, hand eye coordination, repetitive tasks.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Strap, tag, end tag, bag, inspect and downsize lumber as required.
• Work cooperatively with a team to achieve production targets.
• Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Abide to OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) workplace health and safety standards.
• Report all Health & Safety issues immediately.
• Maintain good housekeeping in all assigned areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance role.
• Valid driver's license.
• Forklift License, an asset.
• Proficiency in English.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be able to lift 50lbs unassisted.
• Attention to detail.
• Comfortable completing repetitive tasks.
• Basic trouble-shooting skills.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral.
