Duties
The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food products in accordance with A&W recipes, food safety standards, and operational procedures. The Cook works in a fast-paced environment while ensuring food quality, cleanliness, and excellent guest satisfaction.
- Prepare burgers, chicken, fries, breakfast items, and other menu products according to A&W recipes and standards.
- Operate grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment safely.
- Ensure food is prepared accurately, consistently, and within service time targets.
- Maintain food quality, freshness, and proper portion control.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Monitor product temperatures and maintain food holding times.
- Receive, rotate, and store inventory using FIFO procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, prep areas, and equipment.
- Assist with food preparation and stocking throughout the shift.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely order completion.
- Report equipment issues or food quality concerns to management.
- Support teammates during busy periods and contribute to a positive work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or food service experience is an asset but not required.
- Food Handler Certification is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Food preparation skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced work environment.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg.
- Available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
