Position Overview
The Security Operations Centre (SOC) Operator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating security operations across Head Office and multiple remote sites. This role ensures the safety of personnel, clients, and property by monitoring surveillance systems, responding to alarms and emergencies, conducting patrols, and managing incident reporting. The SOC Operator supports daily operations through proactive risk identification, effective communication, system monitoring, and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), while also assisting with access control, audits, and administrative tracking functions
Work Hours: Full-time overnight shifts (graveyards)
Key Responsibilities
- Handling multiple tasks simultaneously, including answering calls, monitoring emails, and overseeing remote site cameras.
- Monitoring/ responding the fire alarm panel for Head Office (HO) and responding to fire alarm incidents at remote sites.
- Responding the B/E for Head Office (HO) and responding to B/E incidents at remote sites.
- Answering client inquiries and escalating report-related concerns to site management when required.
- Monitoring HO cameras for incidents, including but not limited to vagrant evictions, garbage left on site, graffiti, active threats, and medical emergencies.
- Responding to various alarms for HO and remote sites and taking appropriate action in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conducting patrols of the parkade, building exterior, and interior areas, and reporting any unusual activity or incidents regardless of the outcome.
- Documenting reports in accordance with SOPs and assigning files to the appropriate departments as required.
- Assisting contractors, janitorial staff, and clients with access control inquiries and incident reporting.
- Familiarity with Avigilon, Lenel, and Perspective systems is preferred; however, training can be provided.
- Responding to first aid incidents and completing all required documentation.
- Conducting audits, including key audits, first aid audits, badge audits, CCTV audits, door audits and lighting audits.
- Updating shift logs and tracking information using Excel spreadsheets, updating calendar entries.
- Monitoring systems at remote sites as requested by the client.
