Geoenvironmental Engineering Faculty Role

Become a key player at the University of Alberta as a full-time faculty member in Geoenvironmental Engineering. This position focuses on mining applications and promotes environmental sustainability. The Faculty of Engineering seeks an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in Geoenvironmental Engineering at North Campus Edmonton. You will research geoenvironmental engineering, contribute to courses on environmental impacts, and foster collaborative initiatives. Your expertise in mining applications will drive robust partnerships with industry and research centers. Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a funded research program in geoenvironmental engineering
  • Teach courses on environmental impact and site assessment
  • Foster multidisciplinary collaboration on integrated research
  • Partner with the Geotechnical Centre and Water Research Centre
  • Supervise students jointly within the research cluster
Requirements:
  • Expertise in geoenvironmental engineering, especially in mining
  • Experience in industry collaboration in environmental projects
  • Ability to teach in at least two relevant disciplines
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies like AI and data science
  • Practical experience in mining or environmental sectors
