Job Description:

Crowsnest Concrete is currently seeking two experienced Concrete Finishers.  If you have 3 to 5 years of related concrete finishing experience, including experience working on industrial, commercial and residential projects and are interested in growing your career with our dedicated team, apply today. This position is based out of Grasmere, BC; therefore, the successful candidates must reside in the Grasmere/Fernie area, or be willing to relocate.  No accommodation, living allowance or travel will be provided.

Duties and responsibilities:

·         Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade

·         Fill hollows and remove high spots to smooth freshly poured concrete

·         Operate power vibrator to compact concrete

·         Level top surface of concrete according to grade and depth specifications using straightedge or power screed

·         Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand & power tools and power trowels

·         Apply sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete

·         Waterproof, damp-proof and restore concrete surfaces

·         Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete flatwork: driveways, stairs, and sidewalks etc.

Requirements:

·         Experience in decorative concrete finishing, commercial concrete floors & industrial and bridge concrete work; floor pouring, leveling and finishing; slab installation

·         Valid driver’s license

·         Clean driver’s abstract

First Aid certificate considered an asset
Workplace Hazardous Information System (WHMIS) certificate considered an asset
