WIZ PLUS PROPERTIES INC is a custom home builder and commercial tenant improvement company focused on delivering high-quality craftsmanship and maintaining a strong team-oriented work environment. We are currently seeking a Lead Carpenter to join our growing team.
This position is ideal for an experienced carpenter who enjoys leading crews, coordinating site activities, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The successful candidate will work hands-on while supervising carpenters, apprentices, subcontractors, and daily site operations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor carpenters and apprentices on site
- Coordinate daily construction activities and project schedules
- Perform carpentry work including framing, finishing, renovations, and tenant improvements
- Ensure work meets project specifications, quality standards, and building codes
- Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, and site logistics
- Conduct site safety meetings and maintain a safe work environment
- Communicate project progress, issues, and solutions with management
- Assist with material takeoffs, ordering, and quality control
- Maintain daily site reports and documentation
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of carpentry experience
- Previous experience leading a crew or supervising projects
- Experience in custom homes, renovations, and commercial tenant improvements
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- First Aid certification is an asset
