Job Title: Director, Strategic Sourcing, Plastics

Location: GTA About the Opportunity

The Director, Strategic Sourcing is a key member of the Purchasing Team North America (NA), responsible for developing long‑term purchasing strategies and implementing short and medium‑term sourcing strategies, policies, practices, and systems. The incumbent will collaborate closely with the global procurement team, local Canadian and U.S. internal stakeholders, and lead a team of managers and professionals to meet organization goals including total cost and supply objectives. Responsibilities

Oversee the development and execution of sourcing strategies across multiple categories, including targets, timelines, and resource plans. Manage global strategy and negotiation initiatives led by the global procurement team, providing pricing specifications, vendor listings, market intelligence, and local negotiation to finalize agreements. Develop long‑term strategies and ensure local short‑ and medium‑term sourcing strategies are implemented by team members using in‑depth analysis of key cost drivers. Own the budget portfolio of multiple categories, providing input on budget assumptions from the Senior Director of Procurement and the global Strategic Procurement team. Manage all contracts for various category portfolios at a zone level, including vendor qualification, tender, negotiation, and implementation. Lead cost and supply risk management for key material supplies within categories, ensuring the team remains aware of market changes and can mitigate risks through timely contracting or alternative sourcing. Act as an intermediary for escalated issues with senior local leadership to ensure manufacturing plants follow proper purchasing procedures and communicate changes in policies as required. Execute value‑analysis and vendor transfer savings opportunities across categories to deliver cost‑reduction targets and optimize performance measures such as on‑time delivery and lead time without compromising quality, flexibility, or supply continuity. Serve as a cross‑functional liaison, providing insights to senior leadership across Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Quality, R&D, Sales, and Marketing, and contributing to project execution for launches, line extensions, and process optimization. Lead and manage the Canadian/U.S. zone team, setting goals, priorities, providing direction, reviewing performance, supporting suppliers, and coaching staff. Establish a high level of capability, knowledge, productivity, accountability, and decision‑making within the Purchasing group, championing the transfer of purchasing knowledge between functional groups. Develop essential external supplier relationships to optimize quality and performance, driving continuous improvement, innovation, and reduction in total cost of ownership for North America. Support and manage company acquisitions with the global procurement team. Participate in special projects assigned by the Senior Director, Corporate Procurement. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related discipline. Minimum of 15 years’ working experience, with 7 to 10 years in a Procurement function, preferably at a food company. Minimum 5 years of management experience within plastic packaging categories. Experience negotiating complex multi‑year agreements through RFP/RFQ bidding processes. High level of initiative and solid interpersonal skills. Strong planning, project management, leadership, and execution skills. Data‑driven analytical capability. Strong negotiation skills and ability to positively influence others. Ability to lead and motivate staff and present to groups of various sizes and leadership levels. Foundational knowledge of contract law and legal terms & conditions. Foundational knowledge of financial statements and their business impact. Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint. Willingness to travel as required (USA & Canada). What Lactalis Will Offer

The base salary range for this position is $144,800 – $181,000+. ESG Commitment
