Personal Care Specialist

Cencora seeks a Personal Care Specialist to support pharmacy operations remotely from Alberta. The role involves managing prior authorizations, verifying insurance coverage, processing financial assistance, and coordinating specialty pharmacy referrals while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
Responsibilities
- Record patient interactions and update case notes in pharmacy systems while maintaining privacy
- Process prior authorization requests by collecting documentation and submitting to payers
- Verify insurance coverage by reviewing patient cards and checking formulary details
- Support financial assistance enrollment and copay application submissions
- Coordinate specialty pharmacy referrals and track pending authorization status
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- 3+ years pharmacy support, prior authorization, or healthcare administrative experience
- HIPAA or applicable compliance training
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration, life sciences, or pharmacy technology preferred
