You will manage claims, coordinate counsel and experts, assess liability, develop legal strategies, and advise management. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills support independent work, deadline management, and quality service in a challenging team environment.Key Responsibilities:
Manage claims through negotiations, pleadings, and subsequent lawsuit stepsCoordinate external counsel and independent subject matter expertsGather factual and documentary evidence for ongoing claimsAssess commercial risk, liability issues, and mitigation strategiesPrepare legal memoranda and advise management and client groupsRequirements:
Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctorate degreeEligibility for admission to the Law Society of AlbertaMinimum six years of Commercial Litigation experienceConstruction Law, Tax Law, Insolvency, or Oil and Gas experience valuedOther combinations of experience and practice consideredBring commercial litigation, claims management, and legal strategy expertise to Canadian Natural’s Calgary business teams.
