Work Term: January - April 2027

As part of a growing and dynamic Commercial Portfolio Management team, the Intern - Commercial Portfolio Management, BES will be responsible for determining the information and documents required for annual review and coordinating their collection with direct clients and lending partners for both BES and CFG credit teams, maintaining the annual reviews pipeline reporting, overseeing the site inspection process for both annual review and renewals, including maintaining the site inspection pipeline reporting, following up with assignees and assistance with review of site inspections received and supporting coverage of Renewal Coordinator functions (vacation coverage), which include communications with clients, brokers and lending partners, daily reporting and administering of renewals/extensions as requested by management.  

The Incumbent will be reporting to the Manager, Commercial Credit, Portfolio Management and will be working closely with the Renewal Coordinator, Account Managers and CFG Portfolio team.

 

The Core Responsibilities of the Job

• 
  

  Determinine the information/documentation requirements for the upcoming annual reviews, which include complex loan structures, such as repositioning assets, construction, etc. and will communicate the requirements to direct clients, brokers and lending partners, with the objective of obtaining full information packages to meet the requirements within the prescribed timelines (50%) 

• 
  

  Maintain and update the annual review pipeline reporting and reviewing the documents provided to ensure the information is satisfactory before forwarding to the Account Manager (15%) 

• 
  

  Maintain and update the site inspection reporting for renewals and annual reviews to be received post renewal/annual review and to review site inspections received, identifying and escalating any problematic inspections to Account Managers and/or management as needed (15%)  

• 
  

  Responsible for managing their workflow in order to meet prescribed deadlines (10%) 

• 
  

  Communicate with internal contacts (manager, account managers, renewal coordinator, commercial defaults team and CFG portfolio manager) and external contacts (lending partners, mortgage brokers and clients) to ensure transactions are processed in a timely and efficient manner in order to deliver superior customer service (5%) 

• 
  

  Provide coverage for the Renewal Coordinator (vacation coverage), which will involve communications with clients, brokers and lending partners, daily reporting and administering of renewals/extensions as requested by management and will be responsible for contributing to special projects as assigned from time to time (5%)

  Post-secondary education (diploma/degree), preferably in business or finance  

• 
  

  A minimum of 2 years’ commercial mortgage administration and/or credit experience  

• 
  

  Prior experience completing and reviewing site inspections an asset  

• 
  

  Good working knowledge of MS Office (primarily Outlook, Word and Excel)  

• 
  

  Ability to handle competing priorities and work well under pressure  

• 
  

  Good time management and organizational abilities  

• 
  

  Strong attention to detail  

• 
  

  Well developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond in a clear, concise and professional manner

  Team player

  Bilingualism is an asset

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from EQ Bank’s additional office space located at 2200-25 Ontario Street, Toronto, ON .
