Compensation: $55,000-$60,000, commensurate of experience.

About Kandalore

Founded in 1947, Kandalore has long been regarded as one of the leading overnight summer camps in Canada providing the best of both canoe tripping and in-camp activities. The Camp prides itself on its warm and supportive community where children are made to feel included in the camp culture. The supportive nature of the camp allows for the campers to try new activities and develop new skills with the help of caring staff members. Kandalore operates as a summer camp in the summer months and an Outdoor Education Centre hosting school groups from September to June.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, Summer Camp, the Assistant Director of Operations, oversees all aspects of Kandalore’s seasonal overnight camp administration and operations ensuring a seamless experience for campers and families. Key responsibilities include maintaining the online registration database, coordinating arrival and departure logistics, managing relationships with funding partners, and collaborating with various departments to ensure accurate communication of camper information.

Additionally, this position oversees the Tuck Shop and office supply orders, supports the Health Centre by coordinating medical staff and directives, and assists with hiring and onboarding of summer staff, including international team members. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and contribute to the success of both seasonal and year-round operations.

What You Bring

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the ability to manage complex schedules and logistics.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Proficiency in software systems such as Camp Brain, Constant Contact, and Payworks preferred.
• Financial acumen for payment processing and reconciliation.
• Leadership and staff management experience.
• Relevant experience working in administration and/or customer service.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving records.
• Clear Criminal Records Check.
• Experience with overnight summer camps preferred.
