Industrial Plant Cleaner

Our client, an industrial organization specializing in manufacturing and processing, is seeking an Industrial Plant Cleaner to join their team. As an Industrial Plant Cleaner, you will be part of the operations team supporting the maintenance and cleanliness of the plant environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Industrial Plant Cleaner
Location: CA 1- New Glasgow, NS
Pay Range:
Shift: 12-hour day shifts on a crew rotation schedule, following a 1/3 shift pattern with start times at 06:30 and 18:30, with occasional overtime opportunities.
What's the Job?
- Perform cleaning duties on the first floor, catwalks, and mezzanines of the facility, ensuring a safe and tidy environment.
- Dispose of garbage waste daily, checking and changing trash receptacles as needed, and maintaining proper documentation for traceability.
- Collect talc and floor sweepings into super sacs, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met.
- Check and change dust collector bags in designated areas twice per shift to maintain optimal operation.
- Clean designated zones, including belt areas, chipper, and offices, by sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces, including weekly waxing of floors and dusting eyewash stations.
What's Needed?
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting up to 10kg and pushing or pulling materials.
- Valid Powered Industrial Vehicle license issued by Michelin, with specific vision and training requirements.
- Willingness to wear safety gear such as safety glasses, hearing protection, safety footwear, and respiratory protection when required.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- No prior experience required; training will be provided.
