Server Engineering Manager, Member Experience

Engineering

Full-time

In a world where many social apps measure their success by time spent online, Raya is a technology company focused on providing utility. Our iOS only app is a tool for discovery of and access to exciting people, events, opportunities, and recommendations globally. We believe that by marrying great software with a membership based community built around core values of trust, creativity, and reciprocity, we can provide solutions that have heretofore been impossible.

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Member Experience server team. Member Experience owns the full member lifecycle - from a prospective member's first application through onboarding, payments, and renewal month after month. That surface spans application and acceptance, authentication and login, onboarding, subscriptions and in-app purchases including Raya+, reactivation and referrals, and member communications. These are net-new payment systems built for scale rather than legacy systems in maintenance, with high ownership and direct revenue impact.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience managing software development teams, with deep knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript, and should be familiar with cloud architectures, services, deployment models, and distributed systems. We value strong project management skills and the ability to deliver on commitments. In this role, you will work closely with leadership, product managers, designers, and data team stakeholders to deliver business impact.

We offer comprehensive medical and dental coverage, $50 a day food delivery budget, equity based employment, a great culture, learning opportunities, unlimited vacation, 12 weeks paid parental leave, and we pay all employees $1,000 a year to go somewhere in the world that they've never been because of our values of human connection, empathy, and curiosity.
