Event Planner

Manulife

The Event Planner is responsible for coordinating and executing a portfolio of meetings, conferences, and events that support Manulife and John Hancock’s business objectives across Wealth & Asset Management and Canada Segment.

This role supports the end-to-end delivery of in-person and hybrid programs, ensuring a seamless attendee experience while maintaining alignment with brand standards, compliance requirements, and budget expectations. The Event Planner operates in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and collaborates closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver high-quality, consistent event experiences.

Position Responsibilities Event Planning & Execution

Plan and execute logistics for meetings, conferences, and events across in-person, and hybrid formats

Manage event timelines, project plans, and workback schedules to ensure delivery against deadlines

Support full event lifecycle including intake, planning, execution, and post-event follow-up

Ensure all event deliverables are completed accurately and on time

Registration & Event Technology

Build and manage event registration websites using Cvent, including branded designs, communications, and reporting

Manage attendee registration, tracking, and reporting across programs

Support onsite registration processes and tools, including event check‑in and badging

Budget & Financial Management

Support development and management of program budgets, including tracking and reconciliation

Ensure events are delivered within approved budget parameters

Assist with sourcing and contract processes to support cost-effective solutions

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with internal teams including Marketing, Sales, Compliance, and Operations to support event execution

Participate in needs assessment discussions and provide input on program design and attendee experience

Maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout the planning lifecycle

Compliance, Risk & Brand Management

Ensure all events adhere to Manulife compliance policies and regulatory requirements

Support brand alignment across all event materials, communications, and experiences

Maintain required documentation and approvals for financial services events

Attendee Experience & Communications

Coordinate attendee communications including invitations, confirmations, and logistical details

Support development of event materials such as agendas, name badges, and program collateral

Ensure a high-quality, consistent experience across all attendee touchpoints

Operational Excellence

Maintain accurate event documentation, reporting, and tracking tools

Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency

Contribute to team initiatives focused on enhancing service delivery and consistency

Required Qualifications

3–6+ years of experience in event planning, hospitality, or related field

Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Intermediate proficiency in Cvent (registration builds, reporting, attendee management)

Experience with event technology platforms (e.g., Zoom, Socialive or similar)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

High attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Knowledge of financial services compliance preferred

If you are applying to this role in Massachusetts, please note the salary range is $61,875 - $103,125 USD. Additionally, employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.

Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Salary range is expected to be between $62,850.00 CAD - $104,750.00 CAD. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
