The Canadian Association for Supported Employment (CASE) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented French Translator to join our Communications team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and inclusivity of our French-language communications across Canada. REPORTS TO: Director of Communications
JOB OVERVIEW:
Translation, adaptation, and review of French communication materials
- Translate and adapt Program and Marketing content with a consistent voice and approach, ensuring high quality, professional, compelling, branded and consistent languag
- Ensure all French communication materials match the voice and tone of English communication materials
- Edit and proofread French communications and resources to vet for any inconsistencies
- Research and implement appropriate French terminology, including person-centred, disability workplace inclusion, and inclusive of intersectional language consideration
- Ensure consistency in the brand for all French communications, including through conducting spot checks and fatal flaw reviews of French communication materials
- Ensure the quality of French content on websites
- Ensure that the French content is relevant to francophone persons and communities across the country
Translations management
- Maintain a translation glossary to ensure the consistent translation and adaptation of material
- Review all written communications translated and/or adapted by external agencies or suppliers working with departments, when needed
- Manage individual translation project file
- Communicate clearly with requesters to ensure both parties are clear on deliverables and deadlines
Maintain French style guidelines and tools
- Update and maintain French terminology documents
- Act as advisor for language use for French communications
- Serve as a resource to staff regarding the application of the French style guidelines in their projects and activities
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications , Linguistics, Language Arts, or Education
- Minimum five years' experience in the translation field
- Knowledge of the translation process, terminology, and localization techniques
- Familiarity with localization guidelines and standards
- Ability to convert English written materials into French language
- Excellent translation, writing, and communication skills
- Fluency in English and French language
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environmen
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
HOURS OF WORK AND SALARY:
- Part -time (18 .5 hours / week) contract ending on Ma rch 27, 2027
- The hourly rate is $35.35
- Three weeks of paid vacation (pro-rated)

APERÇU DU POSTE
Traduction, adaptation et révision de documents de communication en français
- Traduire et adapter le contenu des programmes et du marketing avec une voix et une approche cohérentes, en veillant à la qualité, au professionnalisme, à la force du message, à l'image de marque et à l'uniformité de la langue
- S'assurer que tous les documents de communication en français reflètent la voix et le ton des documents en anglais
- Réviser et corriger les communications et les ressources en français afin de repérer toute incohérence
- Rechercher et appliquer la terminologie française appropriée, notamment en ce qui concerne le langage centré sur la personne, l'inclusion en milieu de travail des personnes en situation de handicap, et les considérations relatives au langage intersectionnel et inclusif
- Assurer la cohérence de l'image de marque dans toutes les communications en français, notamment par des vérifications ponctuelles et des révisions visant à détecter les erreurs critiques dans les documents de communication en français
- Veiller à la qualité du contenu en français sur les sites Web
- S'assurer que le contenu en français est pertinent pour les personnes et les communautés francophones de partout au pays
Gestion des traductions
- Tenir à jour un glossaire de traduction afin d'assurer la cohérence dans la traduction et l'adaptation des documents
- Réviser, au besoin, toutes les communications écrites traduites ou adaptées par des agences ou des fournisseurs externes qui travaillent avec les différents services
- Gérer les dossiers de projets de traduction individuels
- Communiquer clairement avec les personnes requérantes afin de s'assurer que les deux parties comprennent bien les livrables et les échéances
Maintien des lignes directrices et des outils de style en français
- Mettre à jour et tenir à jour les documents terminologiques en français
- Agir à titre de conseiller ou de conseillère en matière d'usage linguistique pour les communications en français
- Servir de personne-ressource auprès du personnel en ce qui concerne l'application des lignes directrices de style en français dans le cadre de leurs projets et activités
COMPÉTENCES ET EXPÉRIENCE
- Baccalauréat en communications, en linguistique, en arts du langage ou en éducation
- Minimum de cinq ans d'expérience dans le domaine de la traduction
- Connaissance du processus de traduction, de la terminologie et des techniques de localisation
- Familiarité avec les lignes directrices et les normes de localisation
- Capacité à convertir des documents écrits en anglais en français
- Excellentes compétences en traduction, en rédaction et en communication
- Maîtrise du français et de l'anglais
- Capacité à travailler dans des délais serrés
- Capacité à travailler en collaboration dans un environnement d'équipe à distance
- Maîtrise de la suite MS Office
