Senior DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a talented Senior DevOps Engineer to take ownership of our Secure Access build systems and infrastructure. This role offers an exciting opportunity to modernize and streamline our build processes while ensuring reliable, efficient software delivery. This position offers significant autonomy and ownership. You'll have the opportunity to advance and streamline our current build system, implement new tools and practices, and make architectural decisions that impact the entire engineering organization. What you’ll do

Build System Ownership

• Ownership of Secure Access product build system and infrastructure
• Monitor build health and proactively address issues
• Optimize build performance and reliability
• Document build processes and maintain system documentation

Build Management

• Manage and execute daily builds
• Troubleshoot and resolve build failures quickly
• Coordinate build schedules with development teams
• Ensure quality and consistency of build outputs

Branch Management & Code Integration

• Manage source code branch structure and strategy
• Perform code merges between development branches
• Resolve merge conflicts and coordinate with developers
• Maintain branch integrity and code quality

Release Operations

• Execute release tasks and coordinate release schedules
• Support release validation and verification processes

System Advancement

• Identify opportunities to advance and streamline current build system
• Design and implement build process improvements
• Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies
• Drive automation initiatives to increase efficiency

Company

• Protect the security and privacy of Absolute and its customers
• Other duties as assigned by management

What You’ll Bring

• 5-7 years of professional experience in DevOps, build engineering, or related field
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience managing build systems in production environments
• Strong background in software development lifecycle and release management
• Demonstrated ability to improve and optimize technical processes

Technical Skills

• Strong scripting and automation skills (Perl, Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices
• Knowledge of version control systems and branching strategies
• Understanding of software build processes and dependencies
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred experience

• Experience with Perforce and Git version control systems
• Proficiency with Jenkins or similar CI/CD platforms
• Experience writing and maintaining makefiles, gradle and build scripts
• Familiarity with C++ and Java

The base pay range

The base salary range for this position is CAD $110,000 - $125,000 annually. The base pay offered is determined by the market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our annual bonus program.
