Senior Operations Accountant

Description:

We are currently seeking a Senior Operations Accountant for Palm Holding Corporate head office located in Toronto Downtown. The Accountant will be responsible for overall day-to-day full cycle accounting functions of four or more hotels.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process daily revenue journals, process month end journal entries, and prepare monthly income statements
• Analyze variances, prepare adjustments Journal entries as required.
• Oversee the accounts payable function and process biweekly cheque runs.
• Coordinate and Process the third party payrolls.
• Prepare, reconcile and process all statutory remittances
• Respond to requests from operations & act as a support role for GMs
• Provides budget & forecast process support as required
• Monitors key financial indicators of components
• Performs other duties as directed by the VP of finance and the Controller.

Qualifications:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational skill
• Self-starter/Able to work unsupervised
• Demonstrates initiative
• Motivated, intuitive, decisive, confident
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Able to gain respect of members of department/operations
• Hotel accounting experience is preferred.
• Accpac ERP experience is preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/ Finance
• Experience in Working with US/ Quebec Operations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
