About the Role

As a Quality Assurance Analyst II for Payments, you are an experienced quality assurance professional specializing in settlement processing, payment systems, and transaction validation. You will design, execute, and support quality assurance activities that ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timely settlement of financial transactions across multiple payment platforms. You will partner with cross-functional teams to validate technology solutions that support critical banking and payments operations. Success in this role means delivering comprehensive testing, identifying risks early, and ensuring high-quality releases that meet business, operational, and regulatory requirements. 

What You Will Be Doing

• Analyze business and functional requirements to develop effective test strategies, plans, and test cases. 

• Execute functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing across payment processing and settlement platforms. 

• Validate transaction accuracy, settlement processes, reconciliations, and data integrity across multiple payment networks. 

• Utilize simulators, testing tools, and physical payment devices to verify end-to-end transaction processing. 

• Identify, document, prioritize, and manage defects while assessing business impact and operational risk. 

• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, product stakeholders, and QA teams to resolve issues and improve solution quality. 

• Perform database and transaction validation activities using SQL and other testing techniques. 

• Maintain test documentation, test evidence, execution results, and knowledge-sharing resources. 

• Support production issue investigation, root cause analysis, and quality improvement initiatives. 

• Contribute to the advancement of test automation capabilities and continuous improvement of QA processes and standards. 

What You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience. 

• Experience in quality assurance testing within banking, payments, financial services, or transaction processing environments. 

• Knowledge of settlement processing, reconciliation practices, and payment transaction lifecycles. 

• Experience testing payment processing systems and transaction switching platforms. 

• Understanding of payment networks such as Visa, Mastercard, Interac, Exchange, or similar payment ecosystems. 

• Knowledge of EMV standards, ISO 8583 message specifications, ATM, POS, or mobile payment technologies. 

• Experience with Agile and Waterfall software development and testing methodologies. 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, defect management, and risk assessment skills. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams. 

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment. 

Added Bonus if You Have

• Experience with Base24 or comparable payment switch platforms. 

• Experience with testing tools such as Paragon, ICC Tools, MDS, Banknet/GCMS, VTS, or similar solutions. 

• Knowledge of SQL, database testing, and transaction data validation techniques. 

• Experience supporting test automation initiatives and quality engineering practices. 

• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and modern test management tools. 

• Understanding of regulatory, compliance, and operational risk requirements within payments environments.
