Accounting Clerk/Bookkeeper

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Clerk to join our small office team. The successful candidate will be organized, accurate, and able to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities

-Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions  
-Prepare invoices, record payments, and follow up on outstanding balances  
-Process payroll accurately and on schedule  
-Prepare and file GST and PST returns  
-Perform monthly bank reconciliations  
-Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and files  
-Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements  
-Support general administrative and accounting duties as required  
-Identify discrepancies and use critical-thinking skills to resolve issues

Qualifications and Skills

-Previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role  
-Knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable procedures  
-Experience with payroll processing and GST/PST filings  
-Understanding of bank reconciliations and financial statements  
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy  
-Excellent organizational and time-management skills  
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team  
-Strong communication and problem-solving skills  
-Proficiency with Sage accounting software and Microsoft Office applications is an asset
