Senior Software Developer - Full Stack

Please Note: Public Sector experience is mandatory, along with the core technical requirements [Node/Python, ReactJS, API, AWS Lambda, FHIR, HL7, AODA, WCGA, OAuth 2.0].
Role Summary
The Senior Full Stack Developer will lead the development of secure, scalable, and highly available cloud-native applications using AWS serverless technologies and modern frontend frameworks. The role requires strong experience with healthcare interoperability standards, enterprise integrations, API development, cloud messaging services, and modern software engineering practices to deliver high-quality digital solutions.
Must-Have Requirements
- Proven experience designing and building highly scalable, serverless backend APIs using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and Node.js or Python .
- Practical experience integrating healthcare systems using HL7 FHIR and SMART on FHIR standards.
- Experience working with Ontario healthcare assets such as Provider Registry, Hospital Report Manager (HRM), or similar provincial healthcare systems .
- Experience integrating with Ocean, Novari, or equivalent referral management systems .
- Public Sector experience is mandatory .
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design, development, and implementation of full-stack serverless applications.
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs and FHIR resources to securely retrieve, manage, and present healthcare data.
- Integrate frontend applications and backend services with AWS cloud messaging platforms for SMS and email notification workflows.
- Implement authentication, authorization, and identity management controls using OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SMART on FHIR.
- Develop clean, secure, scalable, and maintainable application code following industry best practices.
- Conduct peer code reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, developers, and project teams throughout the SDLC.
- Participate in solution design, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support activities.
Desired Skills
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
- Experience with Amazon Bedrock and Generative AI integrations.
- Experience building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q Developer, or Cursor.
- Experience with healthcare NLP solutions and processing PHI/PII data securely.
- Experience working with synthetic healthcare data.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
