Senior Product Engineer Engineering · Toronto, Canada

We are looking for a seasoned developer who views code as a means to an end, not the end itself. This is a hybrid role for someone who lives at the intersection of product strategy and technical architecture.

In this environment, we don't just use AI tools; we work through them. You will lead the development of core product features by leveraging coding agents (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to handle the grunt work of syntax, so you can focus on architecture, user experience, and system integrity. You won't be closing tickets. You will own the Why and the How of the product.

What You'll Do

• Architectural orchestration. Design scalable, secure systems that can be implemented quickly through AI-assisted coding with strong oversight.
• Product stewardship. Partner with stakeholders to define the roadmap. You bring a product manager's brain to engineering problems, understanding customer pain points and translating them into technical solutions.
• Agent-based development. Master prompting, context-window management, and multi-agent workflows to ship high-quality code at 10x traditional speed.
• End-to-end ownership. From the initial UX wireframe to the CI/CD pipeline and InfoSec hardening, you own the feature lifecycle.
• Design and UX. Ensure that what we build isn't just functional, but intuitive. You prioritize the customer's journey over technical convenience.

Our Technical Values

We have moved past manual boilerplate coding. We value:

• Pattern recognition over syntax mastery. You know design patterns and architectural best practices well enough to guide AI agents toward robust code.
• Creativity as a core skill. When the cost of implementation drops to near zero, the value sits in the idea and the execution detail.
• Security first. You are the final line of defense. You understand InfoSec deeply enough to audit and validate AI-generated code.
• DevOps and infrastructure. You understand how to deploy and monitor what you build. "It works on my machine" is not in your vocabulary.
• Enterprise mindset. Customers should have choice in where their data lives and how it's managed.
• Agile habits. Frequent shipping, high quality bar. We all write and execute tests. A lot of them. Write tests now, enjoy stable production code later.

Qualifications

• Experience. 7+ years in software development, with a proven track record of shipping successful products.
• AI-fluent. Deep experience with LLMs and coding agents. You have a personal workflow that demonstrates how you use AI to multiply your output.
• Full-stack intuition. You might have a side, but you are comfortable discussing DB schema, API design, and CSS transitions in the same breath.
• Strong communicator. You can explain complex technical trade-offs to non-technical partners.
• Ownership mindset. You treat the codebase like you own the company. You don't wait for permission to fix a UX bug or a security hole.

Why Join Us

We aren't interested in how many lines of code you can write in an hour. We are interested in how much value you can unlock for our customers. If you are a developer who feels stifled by the traditional Jira grind and wants to act as a force multiplier using the most modern tools on the planet, we want to talk to you.

We're building the AI hiring team for high-volume frontline employers . Every VP HR and CHRO at a 500 to 5,000-person restaurant group, retail chain, logistics operation, or healthcare staffing company faces the same problem: hiring demand grows faster than their team can scale. The answer isn't more headcount. It's a new kind of hiring team.

Amp is the AI hiring team that screens candidates, coordinates interviews, manages scheduling, and follows through to close. 24/7. No bottlenecks. No delays. Amp delegates the work, but the customer owns the decisions : who advances, who gets hired, what the bar is.

Unlike copilots or chatbots that assist, Amp is built around outcomes. Hires delivered, not dashboards delivered. Amp runs inside the customer's existing ATS, HRIS, workforce platform, email, and calendar. Deploys in days. No rip-and-replace. No new platform to learn.

The result: the human team focuses on the strategic, high-judgment work that drives business impact. Amp handles the volume.

Amp uses artificial intelligence tools to help screen and assess applications submitted for this position. These tools assist our recruitment team by supporting the review of candidate submissions; they do not make final hiring decisions on their own. All decisions regarding your candidacy are made by Amp's hiring staff.

Personal information you provide as part of your application, including materials reviewed using artificial intelligence tools, will be retained by Amp for 2 years (730 days) from the date of submission, after which it will be disposed of in accordance with Amp's standard record-keeping practices.

By applying to this position, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this notice. Amp is committed to a fair and transparent recruitment process and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates.
