CH is a purpose-driven social enterprise and the largest housing operator in Calgary, providing safe and affordable housing to more than 27,000 Calgarians. As the Chief of Staff reporting to the President/CEO, you will be instrumental in helping deliver CH's vision, strategic objectives, work plans and manage the workflow of projects and initiatives. Primary duties include:Manage workflow and deadlines for all reports to the CH Board Committees, Board of Directors meetings and Annual General Meetings.Chair meetings of CH Executive Leadership Team and Workforce Planning, coordinating agendas and content.Establish and maintain positive working relationships with CH colleagues, Municipal, Provincial and Federal administration and elected officials and housing sector organizations.Lead special project work on behalf of the President's Office.Participate on various corporate and external partner committees on behalf of the President and represent the President as required on CH committees and act as a proxy for decision-making.Respond to high priority inquiries from residents, the public and political officials in a timely, sensitive and effective manner.Monitor large scale projects and keep the President apprised of progress, challenges, and risks.Identify and lead issue responses for the President's office.Research, analyze and prepare correspondence and reports on behalf of the President for senior officials.Deliver on strategic items and responding to emerging situations including business continuity and emergency response.Participate in CH's Executive Leadership Team.QualificationsA degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration or a related field and at least 5 years of progressive experience working in a related real estate or housing organization, non-profit or government industry. A master's degree will be considered an asset.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role, leading teams, working with executive level leadership and Board of Directors.Experience responding to sensitive situations or people experiencing trauma with diplomacy and leadership.Demonstrated competencies in strategic and analytical thinking and decision-making, leadership, report writing and excellent time management and organizational skills.Willingness and ability to take initiative and work in complex, high paced, multifaceted environment with minimal supervision while exercising initiative and good judgment.A good working knowledge of Public and Housing Policy, strategic planning processes, non-profit sector and/or The City/Wholly Owned Subsidiaries ad board governance and structure, is an asset.A high level of political acumen and judgement including ability to work effectively with a variety of people city staff, elected offices, other orders of government, the public and external organizations.Strong ability to effectively influence and communicate, both verbally and in writing.Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated contributions towards achieving equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism and serving people experiencing vulnerabilities.Pre-employment Requirements.Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
