About the Opportunity

We are currently looking to connect with experienced Production Managers in Winnipeg who have a strong background in the food manufacturing industry.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in food production and a strong understanding of high-volume manufacturing operations. Experience operating and overseeing rotary bagging equipment, particularly Leepack or JDD machines, is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and customer requirements are met.
• Lead, supervise, and support production teams across multiple shifts.
• Plan and coordinate production schedules based on customer demand and available resources.
• Monitor production performance, efficiency, downtime, waste, and overall productivity.
• Operate, oversee, and troubleshoot production and packaging equipment, including rotary bagging machines.
• Provide technical support and direction related to Leepack, JDD, or similar rotary bagging equipment.
• Identify production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
• Ensure products are manufactured in accordance with food safety, quality, and company standards.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other departments to maintain smooth production flow.
• Monitor staffing requirements and ensure appropriate resources are available to meet production demands.
• Train, coach, and develop production employees and supervisors.
• Maintain accurate production records and prepare reports on production performance.
• Promote a strong culture of workplace safety, food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, increase efficiency, and control production costs.
• Ensure all employees follow company policies, procedures, GMPs, HACCP requirements, and health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in food manufacturing or food production.
• Previous Production Manager, Production Supervisor, or senior production leadership experience.
• Strong experience managing high-volume food production operations.
• Hands-on experience with rotary bagging machines such as Leepack or JDD is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of food safety, GMPs, HACCP, and quality control procedures.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand production equipment and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and support production operations as required.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced food manufacturing professional who understands production from both an operational and technical perspective. They should have strong leadership experience, be comfortable working with production equipment, and have hands-on knowledge of rotary bagging systems such as Leepack or JDD.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have demonstrated success improving production efficiency, reducing downtime and waste, developing production teams, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
