ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manager – Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program and working in consultation with related clinical and administrative leadership, the Community Engagement Lead will take a lead role in developing comprehensive and meaningful engagement initiatives with Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) clients, people with lived experience, family members, and community partners across the Northwest region. This will include building upon existing relationships with community organizations and OSP partners and developing a work plan to achieve the OSP program vision of ensuring priority populations receive fair and equitable access to services. The preferred candidate will have experience in service delivery rooted in people-centered care and anti-racist practice.

WHAT YOU BRING
Education/Experience:
- A minimum of a undergraduate or graduate degree (Master’s Degree is preferred) in a related field with demonstrated knowledge of the health care continuum
- Communications and/or marketing education or professional experience
- Experience working with Indigenous people and other diverse ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds is required
- Experience working with LGBTQ2S+ individuals
Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to independently identify systemic issues, plan improvements, measure success and continue quality improvement
- Demonstrated superior communication and influencing skills (oral and written) to effectively communicate with priority populations, OSP regional and provincial teams, Service Delivery Sites partners, community agencies, stakeholders and leadership teams
- Excellent skills related to development, design and tailored approaches to presentations and ability to connect with the target audience
- Skills related to health promotion and marketing to socialize an evidence based model of care
- Demonstrated excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, Power Point and Outlook)
- Demonstrated excellent problem solving, organizational, time management and project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage routine correspondence, multiple tasks/projects, diversified workload and rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines
- Passionate about contributing to positive social change and commitment to anti-oppression and anti-racism
- Ability to develop trusting professional relationships with the OSP Network Lead Organization team, Service Delivery Site therapists, leadership/management teams and regional and provincial partners.
- Knowledge of community mental health resources including Indigenous services and programs across Northwestern Ontario
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting the emotional, psychological and cultural safety of all clients
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work
Asset:
- Registered member in good standing with applicable professional college in Ontario is considered an asset (e.g. College of Nurses of Ontario, Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, Ontario College of Psychologists, College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario)
- Superior public speaking skills with experience presenting in front of small, medium or large audiences
- Lived experience is considered an asset
- Strong commitment to anti-racism initiatives and to providing compassionate and caring services for people of color including Indigenous Peoples
- Understanding of systemic barriers and issues facing Indigenous peoples including understanding of the social determinants of health of Indigenous Peoples and the social consequences and risk factors associated with client conditions
Conditions of Employment:
- Travel is required to various work locations across Northwestern Ontario and to provide own transportation
- Must undergo a successful Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
- May be required to work flexible hours (extended hours, evening/weekend work)
