Nanny Wanted - Newborn Care Opportunity In Oakville With Parent Working Nearby

I am looking for a caring, reliable, and experienced live-out, part-time nanny to care for my newborn while I work from my home in Oakville, near Trafalgar Rd. and Dundas St. My baby is due October 28, and I am hoping to find the right person to join our routine as we transition into childcare. The position will begin with a few introductory shifts in December so we can get to know each other and establish a routine before I return to work. December shifts will be paid and are intended to help us both become comfortable with the routine, baby's needs, and expectations before the regular January schedule begins. Starting in January, the position will become a regular part-time schedule of approximately 20–25 hours per week, with 2–3 mornings and 2–3 late afternoons per week (preferably on different days). Morning shifts would typically be around 8:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. and afternoon shifts around 3:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m. (flexible depending on the agreed schedule). I am flexible with the specific days while we are setting up the schedule, but once we agree on a schedule, I am looking for someone who can provide consistent and reliable care each week. It will be just me and my baby who live in the home—there are no pets or other family members. This is a smoke-free home. I run a private teaching business from my condo and will be teaching students in the next room during your shift, so I will be nearby if needed. You will not be expected to interact with students. Although I will be nearby, I am looking for someone who is confident caring for a baby independently and comfortable taking the lead during their scheduled hours, as I will be focused on my students or preparing for my lessons. Your primary responsibility will be providing attentive, nurturing care for my baby. Most of the time, you will be caring for the baby in my condo, where everything will be prepared and organized for you. When appropriate, you may also take the baby for walks using the stroller. There are excellent walking routes nearby and many parks within the area. Responsibilities will include: Feeding with a prepared bottle Diaper changes Comforting and soothing the baby Helping the baby settle and go to sleep Tummy time and age-appropriate activities (activities will be prepared for you) Talking, singing, reading, and engaging with the baby throughout the day Keeping a simple nap and feeding log Baby’s laundry if there is time while the baby is sleeping (this is appreciated but not expected) I value a nurturing, responsive approach to childcare and want someone who enjoys supporting a baby's early development through loving interaction, play, and age-appropriate activities. I am looking for someone who is warm, patient, dependable, and enjoys engaging with infants. Experience caring for newborns would be a wonderful asset, as would an Early Childhood Education (ECE) background, Montessori training, or the ability to speak another language. CPR certification is required, and references are preferred. I am looking for someone who is mindful of newborn health and will not come to work if they are unwell. Vaccinations that help protect newborn health are important to our family. I have an extra underground parking spot available for the nanny if needed.
