Your new role

As a Jumbo Operator, you will be responsible for operating underground jumbo drill equipment to advance mine development activities safely and efficiently. You will work closely with mine supervisors and development crews to ensure drilling activities are completed according to engineering specifications and production schedules.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operating jumbo drills in underground hard rock mining environments
• Reading and interpreting mine plans, drill patterns, and engineering layouts
• Conducting pre-operational inspections and reporting equipment defects
• Ensuring all drilling activities are performed safely and accurately
• Working collaboratively with development and production teams
• Following company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment underground

What you'll need to succeed

• Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core certification
• Minimum 5 years of underground mining experience
• Previous experience operating jumbo drilling equipment
• Strong understanding of underground mine development practices
• Ability to read and interpret mine plans and drill patterns
• Knowledge of ground control principles and underground safety procedures
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to maintaining a strong safety culture
• Experience with Sandvik, Epiroc, Atlas Copco Boomer, or similar jumbo equipment will be considered an asset.
• Willingness to work rotating day and night shifts on a 7x7 or 14x14 schedule
• Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment Fit-for-Duty assessment, including drug and alcohol testing
