Summary:

If you value ethics, love finding creative solutions, and have a passion for compliance, then this is the job for you! Reporting to the Quality Manager, the ideal candidate will be committed to customer service excellence and leads by example.

Job Duties:

• Work closely with the Quality Manager to implement quality assurance plans.
• Supervise multiple simultaneous quality assurance processes.
• Provide direct support by maintaining a highly visible presence in production and operational areas.
• Ability to prioritize and organize quality requirements and internal/external customer needs.
• Verify paperwork and data entry to ensure ERP is maintained and accurate in accordance with inventory management processes and Health Canada requirements.
• Completion of quality audits to ensure product expectations are being met.
• Collaborate with other departments to build process efficiencies and ensure the highest quality product.
• Training and employee development (coaching, performance improvement plans, etc.).
• Develop processes, SOPs, Work Instructions, and other training tools.
• Lead the quality team in building a positive work environment.
• Ensure that all team members are working accurately and efficiently according to the SOPs.
• Address any issues or concerns brought forward by Quality Assurance Technicians.
• Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that specifications are met.
• Perform product testing and prepare samples.
• Obtain, move, and sort products, materials, containers, and orders.
• Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.

• Records product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
• Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming/outgoing shipment.
• Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damage, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.
• Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and record keeping purposes.
• Take photos and prepare quality reports for other departments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirement

• A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a quality assurance role in cannabis, pharmaceutical, food, or related industry.
• A university degree in science or related discipline (chemistry, biology, pharmacology) will be considered an asset.
• Previous supervisory experience will be considered an asset.
• Ability to conduct basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written, oral, and spoken) in English.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information.
• Must be able to work independently or within a team setting.
• Must have initiative, the ability to work under pressure and multitask and work with minimal direction.
• Must be highly motivated, service and team-oriented with a positive attitude.
• Ability to perform as series of repetitive operations requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity and lifting up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to wear the appropriate PPE.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
• Abilities to work in warm and humid conditions similar to a greenhouse environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
