National Bulk Logistics Manager
- Transportation accountability for the on-time delivery of bulk products from production/transload facilities to our customers (internal and external)
- Lead carrier RFQs and negotiate freight rates and tariffs.
- Manage all bulk rail car leases.
- Maintain and ensure routing guide compliance.
- Carrier onboarding.
- Maintain all required carrier documentation, including contracts, insurance requirements, addendums/tariffs etc.
- Track and communicate key KPI metrics including, cost per liter, load tracking, and OTD
- Ensure accurate and timely period end reporting and accruals.
- Timely resolution/expediting of any financial risk to the company.
- Work with the broader Supply Chain team to develop annual budgets and identify key productivity opportunities.
- Work with our warehouse and procurement teams to ensure timely loading/unloading of bull containers to reduce demurrage and wait time accessorial charges.
- Own the customs clearance relationship with our customs broker. Ensure timely customs clearance and ensure export duties are mitigated where exemptions exist.
Requirements
- 5 years of logistics and transportation management experience.
- Post-secondary school certificate in management, transport, or a related field
- Knowledge of bulk rail and ocean transportation
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to ensure delivery of service objectives and to monitor performance by preparing statistical reports, analysis, etc.
- Knowledge of financial management practices and systems
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment under limited supervision.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding the transportation industry
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a time-limited environment.
- Ability to supervise and develop logistics supervisors.
- Hazardous materials and CTPAT training, with or without formal certification
