Position Responsibilities
The focus of this position will be instructing the KDNC 1200 A and 01 – Spectrum of Dance in Society for Fall: 9/2/2026 – 12/09/2026 and Winter 12/16/2026 – 04/30/2027.
Responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):
- Teaching students in classroom and/or lab settings with flexibility for both face to face and online course delivery.
- Creating a stimulating, effective, and learner-centered environment.
- Preparing, reviewing and/or updating course material. Marking, grading, and evaluation of student work.
- Providing ongoing feedback, guidance, and assistance to students.
- Upholding the Professional Responsibilities of Faculty at RDP which are described within the Faculty Performance Policy.
- Demonstrating and promoting RDP organizational values and following RDP policies and practices.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferably in Kinesiology, Physical Education, or Recreation.
- Practical experience in dance instruction and knowledge of theory.
- Excellent communication, public relations and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching, ability to inspire students, and commitment to student learning and success.
- Ability to work effectively in a variety of team environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional experience and education in the field.
- Experience teaching in a post-secondary environment.

Part-time Instructors:
- Receive an additional 14% of their gross salary in lieu of benefits and vacation pay.
- Part-time instructors are not eligible for comprehensive health and dental benefits packages.
- Eligible for individual professional development funding, additional free professional development opportunities offered through the institution.
