Job Overview
Project Title: Project Control Officer (PCO) – System Migration.
Duration: 12‑month contract.
Location: Toronto, ON.
Responsibilities
- Project Governance : Ensure adherence to established project management methodologies, standards, and controls; monitor deliverables, milestones, and documentation for quality and completeness; support PMO processes and governance forums; identify, track, and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies; maintain risk and issue logs and ensure timely escalation and mitigation.
- Reporting & Metrics : Develop and maintain project status reports, dashboards, and KPIs; track progress against scope, schedule, budget, and resource plans; provide insights and recommendations based on project performance data.
- Change Control : Manage scope changes through formal change request and approval processes; ensure change impacts are assessed and documented.
- Compliance & Controls : Ensure project activities align with RBC internal policies, governance standards, and regulatory requirements; support audit and compliance reviews as required.
- Stakeholder Support : Collaborate with project managers, business leads, technology teams, and auditors; promote transparency, accountability, and clear communication across stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, IT, or a related field.
- Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years in project controls, PMO, or similar roles; proven experience supporting system migration, IT transformation, or large‑scale initiatives; financial services industry experience highly desirable.
- Technical acumen: Solid understanding of project lifecycles, budgeting, forecasting, and resource management.
- Soft skills: Highly organized, proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in fast‑paced environments.
Tools & Key Requirements
- Project governance, reporting, and control processes.
- Analytical & reporting skills: analyze data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Tools & technology: MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet; reporting tools: Power BI, Excel (advanced).
- Communication: Robust written and verbal skills, including executive‑level reporting.
- Attention to detail: High accuracy in tracking budgets, schedules, risks, and deliverables.
- Financial services knowledge: Experience within banking or regulated environments is an asset.
