Baggage Handling Mechanical Design Engineer

Engineer baggage handling systems for airports using mechanical calculations, spatial analysis, and coordinated installation drawings at Vanderlande. Domestic travel is required as needed.This Mechanical Project Engineer I supports Vanderlande’s North American airport engineering work. You will develop detailed designs from customer requirements, coordinate interfaces with other disciplines, and help ensure efficient installation. The position also involves documenting decisions, specifying equipment, and communicating with site teams.Key Responsibilities:
Optimize as-sold designs into budgeted mechanical systemsAnalyze clearance envelopes, egress routes, and vehicle aislesEngineer project specials and non-standard mechanical interfacesSpecify manufactured and third-party mechanical equipmentDocument designs, installation files, and engineering instructionsRequirements:
Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology bachelor’s degreeMinimum five years of related work experienceConceptual thinking applied to detailed system designStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsExperience using Autodesk project planning and tracking toolsBring mechanical engineering, problem-solving, and stakeholder coordination skills to Vanderlande’s airport baggage automation designs.
