Position: Data Engineer
Location: North York, ON (Hybrid – on-site Monday‑Thursday)
Salary: $30 per hour
Job Type: 12‑month contract

What is the Opportunity?

We are looking for a Data Engineer to support large‑scale retail and e‑commerce data initiatives, working with complex datasets to deliver reliable, scalable, and high‑quality data solutions that enable business and marketing insights. You will play a key role in designing and maintaining data pipelines, optimizing processes, and ensuring data quality across cloud‑based platforms.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Develop and optimize data workflows using SQL and Python.
• Work with Google BigQuery and cloud‑based data environments (GCP).
• Translate business requirements into effective data solutions.
• Ensure data accuracy, governance, and performance across large datasets.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Document data processes, pipelines, and best practices.
• Support ongoing enhancements to data infrastructure and reporting capabilities.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in data engineering, including pipeline and ETL development.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Hands‑on experience with Google BigQuery and cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
• Experience working with large, complex datasets in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to data quality.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Ability to take feedback, remain agile, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
