(East Coast Canada preferred, open to other time zones for exceptional candidates) .The Opportunity:As a Senior Product Designer at Grafana Labs, you will join a growing Product Design organization of more than 25 designers, researchers, engineers, and design leaders distributed across six continents. You will work within a 100% remote R&D organization, so strong, proactive remote communication, collaboration, facilitation, and relationship building skills will be essential to your success.As
Senior Product Designer for Grafana Cloud’s Knowledge Graph, you'll design experiences for the context layer of Grafana Cloud that powers our entity graph, entity catalog and RCA workbench. Knowledge Graph automatically discovers services, infrastructure, and databases from the telemetry teams already have, maps how they depend on each other, and runs anomaly detection. This gives engineers, SREs, and their agents an up to date picture of their systems. We want anyone to be able to understand a system and resolve an incident faster, without writing queries or maintaining alert rules, not just the one person who happens to know it best.Over time, you will develop deep expertise in your product area and associated customer and user personas, use cases, and workflows, which will enable you to design tailored, role-driven experiences.You will also have an opportunity to contribute to the evolution of the Product Design team at Grafana by coaching and mentoring other designers, collaborating on team internal initiatives, and helping evolve new ways of working, learning, and having fun together as the team scales.What You’ll Be Doing:Enabling customers to easily understand and explore how their systems connect to each other. Find clear, simple ways to show complex, constantly-changing information without overwhelming the userTranslate research and data to experiences that are easy to digest and break down complexityTailor the experience to different target audiences, covering multiple user perspectivesWork cross-functionally with peers and leaders in engineering, product management, technical writing, and GTM functions, as well as other members of the Product Design teamPrioritise for delivering impact while balancing business priorities, customer wishes and technical considerationsDocument user needs and pain points, design directions, UX trade-offs, and detailed designs for specific features and enhancementsExecute research and contribute to quantitative and qualitative research initiatives with researchers, cross-functional collaborators, customers, and members of the Grafana user communityWhat Makes You a Great Fit:7+ years of relevant design experience working on B2B/enterprise software products, ideally designing tools and services for developers or other highly technical usersA portfolio of effective designs for complex products delivered in a fast-paced environmentExperience running qualitative research in complex fields, building empathy with users and humans, their needs and pain points even when you have very little in common with themAbility to make design decisions that appropriately balance business goals, product priorities, customer feedback, research insights, and technical considerationsAbility to collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple locations and time-zones to iteratively ship and evolve products while keeping the end design vision in mindAttention to detail and willingness to learn about a complex, very technical product spaceExperience working in a fully-remote, fast-paced environment where you are expected to share openly, default to transparency, and embrace your autonomyBonus Points For:Experience designing complex, data-dense interfaces with a focus on clarityAbility to rapidly gain an understanding of a technical domain and associated customer needs and user workflows in order to design effective experiences within that domainDomain knowledge or experience related to observability, cloud infrastructure, and/or database monitoringExperience helping design teams, especially at engineering led companies, level up their practice, collaboration with partner functions, and user and organizational impactCompensation & Rewards:In Canada, the Base compensation range for this role is CAD $ 150,822 - CAD $180,986. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed throughout the interview process.
