Senior Insurance Account Manager

As a Senior Account Manager, a typical day might include:

Customer Service & Account Executive Support

• Collaboratively and regularly meets with Account Executive(s) and the team to stay abreast of client account status
• Proactively obtains underwriting information from potential and renewal clients
• Creates and sends submissions to underwriters (where re-marketing is required)
• Liaises with clients on the status of requests for coverage or renewal
• Presents quotes and/or renewals to clients, obtaining orders and binding coverage with underwriters
• Maintains a technical and service-oriented relationship with the clients and underwriters
• Provides friendly, professional service to customers and Account Executives
• Handles routine customer and Account Executive inquiries/concerns in a timely manner and to an agreed upon Practice Group standard
• Proactively identifies coverage gaps and makes insurance and risk management recommendations
• Provides administrative support as required including, but not limited to, invoicing, Cover Notes, finance contracts, claims support, Accounts Receivable, etc.
• Managing daily administration of client accounts (correspondence; policy, contract, and lease agreement wording review; policy documentation issuance; account receivables lists)

New Business Placement

Assists Account Executive(s) in the placement of new business opportunities.

Marketing

• Provides marketing and policy rating services
• Liaises with Account Executives to discuss client needs and make recommendations regarding terms and conditions obtained
• Provides ongoing servicing as required
• Negotiates mid-term changes with insurers
• Prepares submissions to insurers and proposals for clients
• Creates and follows up on abeyances and documentation requests
• Attends client meetings, as required

Must haves:

• At least 5 years of Commercial Insurance experience
• General Agent Level II Insurance license through the Insurance Council of BC
• Insurance experience in CGL, property & equipment breakdown, SOVs, working with MGAs, submissions, marketing & proposals, claims

You want a leg up?

• CAIB or CIP insurance designation
• Experience using the Epic broker management system
• Insurance experience in D&O, cyber, and other specialty lines, rate sheets, including split rating, process of learning/understanding clients' operations, pre-underwriting process for the practice group's specialty industry/industries
