Senior Estimator – Modular Construction
Location: Edmonton, AB Salary: Up to $150,000 + Bonus + Benefits
About the Company
Our client is a leading modular construction builder with a strong presence in Western Canada, delivering innovative and efficient solutions across commercial, institutional, and industrial sectors. Known for their forward-thinking approach and streamlined project execution, they are experiencing continued growth and are looking to add a Senior Estimator to their Edmonton team.
The Opportunity
This is a key role within the pre-construction team, responsible for leading estimates on modular and prefabricated construction projects. You will play a critical role in shaping project strategy, pricing, and overall feasibility, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for modular construction projects
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop detailed takeoffs and budgets
- Manage the full tendering process, including subcontractor solicitation, scope review, and bid evaluation
- Develop conceptual and design-build estimates at various stages of project development
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategies
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and operations teams to optimize project delivery
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators as needed
- Support project handover to operations teams, ensuring clarity on scope, costs, and assumptions
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in estimating within construction (modular, prefab, or ICI experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of modular construction methodologies and cost drivers (asset)
- Proven track record of successfully pricing medium to large-scale projects
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Excel, Takeoff software)
- Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
