You Are

An experienced Mainframe Workload Automation Analyst .

Role

As a member of the Infrastructure and Operations team, you will focus on IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler / IBM Z Workload Scheduler support and optimization for enterprise batch and online scheduling environments, acting as a technical SME. The role also provides 24x7 on‑call production support and handles software maintenance, upgrades, and physical disk space (DASD) management across both mainframe and Windows Server environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 3 support for IBM TWS/ZWS in complex mainframe environments.
  • Design, maintain, and optimize job schedules, calendars, dependencies, and critical paths.
  • Monitor daily batch cycles and resolve issues to ensure SLA compliance.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and support TWS/ZWS components and agents.
  • Analyze scheduling failures, delays, and bottlenecks; implement preventative fixes.
  • Optimize batch performance through workload balancing, automation, and capacity planning.
  • Ensure security, audit, and operational compliance.
  • Act as a workload automation SME and mentor junior staff.
  • Mainframe Disaster Recovery (MVSODR).

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years hands‑on experience with IBM TWS and IBM ZWS on z/OS.
  • Strong understanding of mainframe batch processing, JCL, and z/OS concepts.
  • Experience supporting mission‑critical 24x7 environments.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex scheduling, dependency, and batch‑flow issues.
  • Demonstrated experience with mainframe disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or completion of a college program in a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Bonus Points

  • Distributed workload automation integration.
  • CICS or DB2 batch dependency knowledge.
  • Mainframe scripting or DevOps exposure.
  • IBM Workload Scheduler certifications.
  • Banking, insurance, or regulated‑environment experience.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation varies depending on location, role, skill set, and experience. The base pay range for this role is $60,350 to $110,350 per year in British Columbia/Ontario.

This position requires a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. Preferred location: Mississauga.

English is required as the role regularly interacts with English‑speaking stakeholders across Canada.
