Payroll Clerk

Southeast College is expanding our team of Payroll experts in Weyburn!

We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll practices, along with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities:
Administer employee benefits and pension plans, ensuring compliance and processing deductions.
Process payroll, verify timesheets, perform calculations, and distribute pay statements.
Ensure timely and accurate bi-weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc payroll processing, including final payments and adjustments.
Prepare reports and data for various payroll surveys and filings.
Participate in new-employee orientation, distributing packages and tracking completion of payroll and benefit forms.
Prepare and electronically file T4s, and compile T4 summaries.

Qualifications:
A one to two-year post-secondary certificate or diploma in Accountancy is required.
Preference for those with National Payroll Institute certification or pursuing it.
At least one to two years of full-cycle accounting experience, with a focus on payroll and benefits administration.
Knowledge of provincial and federal payroll legislation and Employment Standards.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and payroll systems (i.e., SAGE & ADP)
Skilled in mathematical applications for payroll/statistical reconciliation.
Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, and initiate process improvements.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask while maintaining accuracy.
Independent and team-oriented, able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
