Microsoft 365 Collaboration & Solutions Specialist

• Location: Downtown Montreal – Place des Arts
• Work Arrangement: Onsite, 3 days per week
• Contract Duration: 6 months, with potential for extension
• Start Date: ASAP

Role Summary

The Microsoft 365 Collaboration & Solutions Specialist will support, administer, and enhance the Microsoft 365 collaboration platform while delivering business-focused solutions using SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, Power Platform, and Microsoft Copilot.

The consultant will partner with business stakeholders to modernize processes, develop digital workplace solutions, automate workflows, and support a secure and well-governed Microsoft 365 environment.

The ideal resource will bring a strong combination of Microsoft 365 administration, SharePoint solution delivery, Power Platform development, business analysis, technical troubleshooting, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Scope of Responsibilities

Microsoft 365 Collaboration Administration

• Administer and support SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Lists, Microsoft Forms, Microsoft Copilot, and related collaboration services.
• Monitor service health and support day-to-day operational activities.
• Troubleshoot platform incidents and service requests, coordinating with internal teams and Microsoft support when required.
• Support platform configuration, optimization, licensing activities, and adoption initiatives.

SharePoint Online Solutions

• Design, configure, and maintain SharePoint Online sites, document libraries, lists, and collaboration workspaces.
• Support migrations from file shares and legacy collaboration platforms to Microsoft 365.
• Configure and troubleshoot permissions, security groups, inheritance, and access controls.
• Assist site owners with solution enhancements, troubleshooting, governance, and best practices.
• Support information architecture, document management, and content lifecycle initiatives.

Power Platform Development & Automation

• Develop, maintain, and support Power Automate workflows.
• Design, build, and enhance Power Apps solutions that address business requirements.
• Identify and implement workflow automation and process improvement opportunities.
• Support the solution lifecycle, including requirements, design, testing, deployment, documentation, operational handoff, and ongoing maintenance.
• Apply reusable, supportable, and sustainable solution design practices.

Business Analysis & Process Improvement

• Work directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand operational challenges.
• Analyze existing processes and recommend practical Microsoft 365-based solutions.
• Translate business requirements into secure, supportable, and maintainable solutions.
• Contribute to digital workplace, collaboration, reporting, and automation initiatives.

Governance, Security & Compliance

• Follow established Microsoft 365 governance, security, compliance, and data protection standards.
• Support access reviews, site ownership activities, and lifecycle management processes.
• Ensure delivered solutions align with organizational standards and information management requirements.
• Maintain technical documentation, solution records, operating procedures, and support materials.

Operational Support & Knowledge Transfer

• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for Microsoft 365 collaboration technologies.
• Resolve incidents, service requests, and platform-related issues within agreed priorities.
• Create knowledge articles, technical documentation, user guides, and solution support materials.
• Provide knowledge transfer to internal team members and business stakeholders.
• Collaborate effectively with internal technology teams, vendors, and Microsoft support.

Expected Deliverables

• Configured, tested, documented, and supportable Microsoft 365 collaboration solutions.
• Production-ready Power Automate workflows and Power Apps solutions aligned with approved business requirements.
• SharePoint Online sites, libraries, lists, permissions, and information structures configured according to organizational standards.
• Completed Microsoft 365 migration, enhancement, remediation, and operational support assignments.
• Current technical documentation, support procedures, user guidance, and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Clear status reporting, risk identification, issue escalation, and handoff of completed work to internal support teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5–10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Language: Bilingual (French and English)
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 environments, particularly SharePoint Online.
• Experience supporting large-scale SharePoint Online migrations or modernization initiatives.
• Experience implementing document management and records-oriented collaboration solutions.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Copilot or other AI-enabled productivity capabilities.
• Experience working in a large, distributed, or enterprise environment.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, or Power Platform are an asset.
