Accounts Receivable /Accounts Payable Associate - Contract

Salary: $30 - 32 per hour

Our Client, a fast-growing technology company in downtown Toronto is seeking a hands‑on Accounts Receivable /Accounts Payable Associate to support day‑to‑day accounting operations on a 3-month contract. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic startup environment and can quickly contribute across accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, reconciliations, and financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Support full‑cycle Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, manage collections, and apply cash receipts.
• Process vendor invoices, coding, approvals, and payment requests.
• Monitor cash flow and assist with transaction processing activities.
• Perform bank, credit card reconciliations, and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close activities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial processing.
• Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, bookkeeping, accounting support, or a similar finance operations role.
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience working in startup, technology, or high‑growth environments.
• Comfortable learning and navigating multiple financial systems and applications.
• Experience with the following platforms is considered an asset: Stripe, Zip, Float, Slack, Google Workspace
