Overtime: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

About the Role

We are seeking dedicated and professional security personnel to provide tactical security services across Brampton Transit facilities. This position is well-suited to individuals pursuing a future career in law enforcement or public safety, and to experienced guards seeking a dynamic environment. Candidates must be comfortable in high-stress situations, skilled in de-escalation, and able to interact respectfully with unhoused individuals and those experiencing mental health or substance-use challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and report incidents of criminal activity, suspicious behaviour, and hazardous situations. 
• Provide visible uniform presence and conduct proactive patrols of platforms, stops, lobbies, customer service areas, and surrounding property. 
• Deter and enforce prohibited acts (loitering, panhandling, smoking, alcohol consumption, skateboarding, cycling). 
• Unlock and lock doors, offices, and suites; perform access control duties. 
• Complete patrols using electronic guard tour software. 
• Support transit staff, customers, and emergency services during incidents. 
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the City. 
• Respond to and report criminal activity, suspicious behaviour, and hazardous situations. 
• Conduct patrols of the garage, parking lots, and administrative areas. 
• Manage access control and perform lock/unlock procedures. 
• Complete a shift summary prior to departure. 
• Complete patrols using electronic guard tour software. 
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the City.

Requirements

• Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (or Dual Security Guard/Private Investigator Licence). 
• Minimum two (2) years of building security experience. 
• Ability to effectively read, write, speak, and comprehend English
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments. 
• Walk or stand for long periods or entire shifts. 
• Climb stairs and ladders. 
• Lift and/or carry up to 20 lbs. 
• Run short distances during emergencies. 
• Maintain mental resilience in high-pressure environments.
• Knowledge of Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act (Ontario), Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Ontario Fire Code and General security policies, procedures, and best practices
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider 
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada 
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position 
• Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
