Innkeeper

Job Responsibility:

Over the past six years an historic estate, not far from St. Andrews, NB, has become a popular Inn, wedding venue, caterer and employer. Driven by a mission to offer service and hospitality, Dominion Hill Country Inn now has some of the highest ratings from visitors to the region. Its wedding venue is booked more than a year in advance, and the food service and catering enjoy flattering reviews and growing popularity.

The business continues to grow and add new dimensions as it builds the year-round operation. There are new opportunities on the horizon, and the challenge of effectively serving guests is a day-to-day responsibility. A small business, where the staff pitch in as a team to help one another, there is always the “things to do” list that comes with a desire for excellence.

It is time for the owner/innkeeper to take a step back, and share responsibility for managing the operations, building the business, and marketing the services. The new Innkeeper position will have increasing responsibility for leading Dominion Hill. Personal qualities must include a passion for offering hospitality and the ambition to build the business to gain ever greater resilience. Knowledge of the hotel industry is a definite asset.

The Innkeeper must be willing to wear many hats: welcoming guests, solving maintenance issues, building the market profile, managing cash flow, and more. It is not expected that the selected candidate will have all the requisite skills, but a willingness to learn and when necessary “roll up the sleeves” will be essential.

The right person to lead Dominion Hill into the next phase of growth will have an outgoing personality, be eager to interact with guests, and seek opportunities to serve businesses and the community. They will have a supportive management style to work with the Inn's dedicated staff, and an aptitude for general finances.

The compensation package will be a blend of salary and bonuses and could include housing and other options.

Pay: $35,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
