Senior Building Structural Engineer

Lead building structural design and analysis with WSP in Calgary, applying Canadian codes and technical leadership across project lifecycles.This senior position supports WSP’s Buildings team through structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports. You will coordinate with architects and building systems specialists while guiding project teams through technical challenges. The role also includes mentoring developing engineering professionals and supporting construction activities.Key Responsibilities:
Lead structural engineering design and analysis for building projectsDevelop calculations, specifications, reports, and detailed structural designsCoordinate multidisciplinary solutions with architects and engineering specialistsReview drawings, calculations, and technical deliverables for qualityMentor junior engineers and technical staff through professional developmentRequirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering8+ years of relevant building structural engineering experienceProfessional Engineer registration with APEGA or eligibilityKnowledge of Canadian building codes and structural design standardsExperience communicating technical concepts within multidisciplinary teamsApply structural expertise, building design experience, and technical leadership to Calgary projects with WSP’s Buildings team.
