We're Hiring | Software and Hardware Senior Engineering Specialist
The client is open to considering candidates based in
Canada or the USA
who are willing to support the Canadian role remotely.
What We're Looking For:
A university degree in Electronics, Software, Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
15+ years of technical engineering experience, including at least 10 years in aeronautics.
5+ years of experience in FPGA/ASIC development and/or embedded software development for aerospace applications.
Strong knowledge of airborne software and hardware certification standards, including DO-178B/C, DO-254, DO-330, and applicable FAA/EASA guidance.
Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS or JAMA.
Knowledge of programming languages, hardware description languages, embedded architectures, operating systems, and real-time executives.
Experience with civil aircraft and airworthiness authorities.
Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to integrity and accountability.
Review and assess airborne software and electronic hardware designs for technical and regulatory compliance.
Participate in preliminary and critical system design reviews.
Evaluate certification plans, FPGA, ASIC, and PLD designs.
Conduct technical and process audits at supplier facilities.
Perform safety-of-flight reviews and assess software and hardware verification results.
Lead the resolution of technical, safety, and compliance issues.
Prepare and review design compliance reports.
Contribute to the Software and Electronics (SWEL) domain roadmap and mentor junior engineers.
