Associate Data Analyst - 8 Month Contract

We are seeking a detail-oriented and business-focused Associate Data Analyst to join our Finance team on an 8-month contract. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on transforming financial data into actionable insights, enjoys collaborating with stakeholders, and is passionate about enabling data-driven decision-making while upholding strong data governance standards.

Responsibilities

• Partner with finance and business stakeholders to understand challenges and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Act as a trusted advisor, educating internal customers on analytics tools, financial data literacy, and best practices to empower self-service and informed decision-making.
• Guide Finance teams through their data journey—helping them identify, access, and leverage financial data.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that accurately reflect financial health and uncover key cost drivers.
• Apply predictive analytics techniques to anticipate trends, identify risks, and support proactive financial strategies.
• Lead requirements gathering sessions to define business needs and translate them into effective reporting and visualization solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Alteryx for financial performance monitoring.
• Analyze complex financial datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that solve real business problems.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to automate and streamline financial data processes.
• Support and enhance data governance practices, including data quality, integrity, and stewardship across Finance systems and processes.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to colleagues on interpreting financial data and applying analytical techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, data analytics, finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in data analytics, data management, finance, or business analysis.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric mindset.
• Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, and Excel.
• Microsoft PL-300 certification is considered an asset.
• Experience with ERP tools (e.g., JD Edwards E1) is an asset.
• Ability to explain complex data concepts in a clear and engaging way to non-technical audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an innovative approach to analytics.
• Background in statistics, data modeling, or Six Sigma is considered an asset.
• CPA designation is considered an asset.
