Join McMaster University as a part-time Wellness Counsellor, enhancing student well-being and educational outcomes. Collaborate with key personnel to provide vital counselling services. This role involves 17.5 hours per week, focusing on the psychological growth and success of residents and trainees. You'll be responsible for conducting in-depth assessments, implementing treatment strategies, and providing various forms of counselling, including crisis support. Your guidance will help students navigate emotional challenges, promoting their academic and personal development in a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth counselling interviews and assessments
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans
- Provide personal and group counselling sessions
- Advocate for students needing academic support
- Maintain confidentiality of all client records
- Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology or a relevant field
- At least 3 years of experience in counselling
- Experience in a post-secondary setting preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborative work
- Knowledge of ethical practices in counselling
