we are currently recruiting for a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier for our client in the building supply industry.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, providing excellent customer service, and supporting a fast-paced retail environment. . This role works closely with store staff, contractors, vendors, and customers to maintain smooth daily operations and a positive shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner

• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently

• Guide customers through the purchase process and answer basic product inquiries

• Promote additional products and services when appropriate

• Notify appropriate staff of stock shortages or customer concerns

• Ensure customers leave with all required merchandise and services

Administrative Duties

• Answer and direct incoming phone calls professionally

• Maintain working knowledge of the bisTrack POS system

• Follow company administrative procedures and policies

• Complete daily operational checklists as required

Merchandising & Store Support

• Assist with merchandising and restocking products

• Help maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing store displays

• Ensure shelves and checkout areas remain stocked and tidy

Finance & Inventory Support

• Balance cash drawer accurately when required

• Maintain accuracy in transaction processing and inventory procedures

• Communicate professionally with coworkers, customers, vendors, and contractors

• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions

• Maintain a positive and team-oriented attitude

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

• Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Excellent customer service abilities

• Basic computer and data entry skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using POS systems (bisTrack experience is an asset)

• Retail or building supply industry experience considered an asset

• Cash handling experience preferred
