Jr Accountant - ICI Construction

Our client is a reputable mid sized General Contractor based in East Toronto. They have a reputation for building quality ICI projects throughout Ontario. Due to continued growth, they are adding a Junior Accountant to their team.

Responsibilities

• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
  


• Verify or reconcile bank transactions, complete deposits, and issue cheques
  


• Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
  


• Input AP Invoices in QB and Project Costing excel files
  


• Update accounts payable
  


• Perform monthly, quarterly and yearly reconciliations between QB and Project Costing excel files
  


• Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
  


• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
  


• Assist Controller in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
  


• Assist with other accounting duties
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as a junior accountant for a General Contractor in the ICI Sector
  


• Excellent organizational skills

• Strong problem-solving skills
  


• Ability to self-motivate
  


• Ability to work together with others
  


• Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
  


• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
  


• Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially excel) and QuickBooks
  


• Qualifications (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is a plus but not required
