Job SummaryThe Physiotherapist will support the Queen’s University Stronger at Home Hip Fracture Study, a parallel-group, single-blind randomized controlled trial evaluating a 14-week, patient-centred, at-home physiotherapy program for older adults recovering from hip fracture. The PT will deliver protocol-based physiotherapy visits in participants’ homes, coordinate care with the Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA), and support the progression of individualized exercise and education components. The PT will work approximately 3–6 hours per week on average, with some fluctuations over the study period, and training will be provided. About the Study The Stronger at Home study aims to evaluate whether a patient-centred, home-based physiotherapy program can help community-dwelling older adults recover faster and improve functional outcomes after hip fracture. The program will be delivered by a team of physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistants in participants’ homes and will include exercise, support with pain self-management, and education. Participants will receive the 14-week intervention and be followed for up to 12 months after hospital discharge. Job Description
Key Responsibilities
• During the intervention period, the PT will visit participants’ homes and conduct an initial visit, mid-intervention visit, and final visit.
• The PT will coordinate the patient’s care with a PTA who will conduct additional independent visits every other week under the PT’s guidance.
• The PT will help the PTA facilitate and progress the exercise program as prescribed, in accordance with the study protocol.
• The PT will help reinforce the education component, including pain physiology education, fall prevention, and incorporating functional exercises into daily life activities. Other Details

• Home visits will take place in Brockville and surrounding areas.
• Training will be provided for the selected candidate.
• Expected start date: late fall 2026, negotiable.
• The study is expected to remain active for approximately 2–3 more years. Qualifications and Assets
• Must be registered as a physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO).
• Must have access to a car to conduct home visits.
• Must have clinical experience delivering care as a physiotherapist.
• Organized, flexible, and available to work on short notice.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
